Mount Vernon Cabernet Sauvignon 2018 from Simonsberg Stellenbosch grown in the vineyards of the estate. It has deep, dark core with a tight blue/black rim. On the nose, it has ripe, dark berry fruit aromas, with notes of plum, cherry, char, and vanilla.
On the palate, this wine has a full body with layers of ripe berry flavors. It has definite but soft tannins that give good grip and structure to the wine. The berry flavors continue to develop throughout the mouth and dominate the long finish. this wine pairs well with rich and bold-flavored dishes such as grilled steak, roast beef, or lamb. It also complements hard, aged cheeses such as aged cheddar or Parmigiano-Reggiano.
